Editor's Note
In the summer of 2004, while discussing the impending return of PURPLEPROSE with a colleague and friend, Kendall Williams, I was alerted to the possibility that I would be skewing my audience in the wrong direction and potentially disenchanting new readers with just the name alone. The slapstick play on words in conjunction with the mission of the site might indeed go over people's heads. When it was brought up again by David Israel I knew this could not be ignored anymore.
With that said, let me use this express checkout line (disguised as an editor's note) to clear things up. If you are looking for all things flowery, you are in the wrong store. So to Anne, Dan, Dean and Jeanne - no offense - but we don't publish supermarket fiction. :)
Respectfully,
Richard Kriheli, Editor
